Adrià Rofes holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience (International Doctorate for Experimental Approaches to Language and Brain) and a MSc in Clinical Linguistics (Erasmus Mundus in Clinical Linguistics). He is an Atlantic Fellow at the Global Brain Health Institue and works at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) and Johns Hopkins University (USA).

Pablo Rodríguez-Sánchez holds an MSc in physics (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, 2012) and a PhD in applied mathematics (Wageningen University, 2020). Currently, he works as a Research Software Engineer at the Netherlands eScience Center.

PhD (1985) in Biology, Professor of Microbiology (University of Navarra, Pamplona). He was postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Molecular & Cellular Biology (University of California - Berkeley) and at the Department of Molecular Microbiology & Immunology (University of Columbia, Missouri). His interests are the animal and human brucellosis with emphasis on the genetic and phenotypic characterization of virulence factors, the construction of new live vaccines and the development of new molecular techniques for diagnosis and typing of Brucella.

Daniel Fernández completed his Ph.D. at the University of Barcelona. He has been a postdoc fellow at the Center for Theoretical Physics in Crete and at the Max Planck Institut for Physics in Munich. Currently, he is a research specialist at the University of Iceland. His research focuses on the gauge/string theory correspondence and its applications to high energy physics and condensed matter physics.

F Javier Carmona Sanz got a Biology degree after completing his studies at University of Navarre and Autonoma of Madrid. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology obtained at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), in Barcelona, were he focused on uncovering epigenetic defects associated with human cancer. He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York, where he is investigating the mechanisms of acquired resistance of breast cancer patients to HER2-targetted therapy. He is also interested on science management and dissemination, aiming to make society participating on the scientific progress.

Laura completed her PhD in Biochemistry at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland (Australia) in 2011. In January 2012 she started working as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Zurich (Switzerland). She is passionate about Science Communication and has collaborated in several science outreach projects.

Patricia Teixidor holds a PhD in Primate Vocal Communication from the University of St. Andrews (1996). She has conducted research with both wild and captive primates (chimpanzees and spider monkeys) and her main interests focus on the function and meaning of primate calls, the evolution of culture and primate conservation. She is a freelance editor and has translated from english into spanish a large number of non-fiction books.

Image of Pablo Bernabéu

Pablo Bernabeu studied English Philology at Autonomous University of Madrid, with minors in Cognitive Linguistics and Translation. He enjoyed full-year exchanges at University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and University of Barcelona, and taught Spanish for six months in Kaunas, Lithuania. He then moved to the Netherlands for a research master’s in Psycholinguistics at the universities of Radboud and Tilburg, and he’s now conducting his thesis research at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, Nijmegen. His interests concern language, specifically conceptual representation, the give-and-take between perception and abstraction, and evolution.
